ADL Introduction

Aspire Defence Ltd sits at the heart of Project Allenby/Connaught. As a Private Finance Initiative funds were raised to complete the construction phase of the Project through a combination of bond funding and equity. The equity is provided by the four shareholders Carillion, KBR, Innisfree and InfraRed. This money is used to meet the Project's aim of making life better for soldiers across the four garrisons it serves. Aspire Defence Ltd holds a 35 year contract with the MoD to complete a construction programme involving over 560 new or refurbished buildings and the delivery of a broad range of services across the garrisons from construction to catering, stores management, transport, building maintenance, grounds maintenance and cleaning – to name a few.  In order to do this it places the construction work with Aspire Defence Capital Works (ADCW) and the service delivery with Aspire Defence Services Limited (ADSL).

However, for successful delivery, something other than the formal relationships is required. A successful partnership has been achieved by sharing and actively working to a set of joint Purpose, Vision and Values; by co-locating at all levels of delivery; by having a joint governance and management structure from Board level down to the delivery level and by ensuring that we provide our services locally so that the users’ needs are understood and met.

These relationships and the consequent success of the Project have been widely recognised through gaining a number of national awards.
