Community spirit and collaboration is alive and kicking in Tidworth.\u00a0 Thanks to Aspire Defence Capital Works (ADCW), over 300 children and staff at Clarendon Infant School and Nursery are benefitting from cleaner, brighter and lighter classrooms.<\/p>\n

Following an approach to ADCW by the school, Site Manager Simon Stanley and School Business Manager Helen Price worked with ADCW Project Manager Tom Barnes, to consider what improvements could be made to the overall learning environment. A schedule of painting works was created. The most recent redecoration works were carried out over the February half term to minimise disruption to pupils and teachers, giving them a welcome surprise to return to after the holidays. The work is part of the School\u2019s wider ambitions to further improve the learning environment.<\/p>\n

And ADCW\u2019s support didn\u2019t stop with redecoration.\u00a0 A recent survey of trees at the school had identified some work that needed to be done.\u00a0 Such work can be a real drain on school resources but, again the local business came up trumps. Tree surgeons from Coombs were already in the area, and generously undertook some of the work.<\/p>\n

Executive Head Teacher, Karen Ward, commented, \u201cThe happiness and well-being of our children and staff is very important to us and we are delighted with the improvements and very grateful to Aspire Defence for their ongoing support.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aspire Defence is currently working across Salisbury Plain Training Area to complete new and improved infrastructure to support the Army Basing Programme, including significant investment at Tidworth and Perham Down.<\/p>\n

Tom Barnes said, \u201cAs members of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, and a business that is delivering facilities to benefit Service personnel and communities in the local area, we have been delighted to work with Clarendon Infant School to enhance their learning environments.
