Collaborative Effort: ADSL and Sodexo Unite to Donate 975kg of Food to Local Food Banks

In a remarkable display of collaborative effort, Aspire Defence Services Limited (ADSL) and Sodexo have joined forces to donate an impressive 975kg of food to local food banks, providing crucial support to those in need within the community.

At a time when more than 14 million people in the UK are living below the poverty line, teams from Aldershot, Tidworth, Larkhill, Warminster, and Bulford Garrisons embarked on a mission to collect as much food as possible throughout the month of July. Recognising the pressing issue of food insecurity in many local communities, the joint initiative aimed to alleviate the challenges faced by families and individuals struggling to access sufficient and nutritious food.

The generosity and unity of purpose displayed by both organisations was truly inspiring. The donated food, equivalent to 1792 meals, will offer immediate relief to those in need, acting as a lifeline during difficult times. This contribution comes at a crucial juncture, particularly during the summer holidays when children lack access to meals at school.

James Nottage, Sodexo Contract Director at Project Allenby/Connaught (PAC), expressed his profound pride in this achievement:

“In the face of ongoing economic pressures, witnessing our Sodexo and ADSL colleagues, coming together to donate such a substantial amount of food for worthy causes is truly humbling. Our local charities are deeply appreciative of these donations, which will significantly impact several families in our local community. This remarkable accomplishment once again underscores the power of collaboration between both organisations. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved.”

This incredible achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of teams and individuals across the PAC Garrisons. Special recognition is extended to Sodexo Account Manager, Mo O’Leary, and ADSL Support Services Manager, Rick Pembleton, whose unwavering commitment propelled this initiative to success.

Sébastien Jouan, ADSL Head of Services, also offered his perspective on the accomplishment:

“Contributing nearly one tonne of food to support local community food banks is a significant achievement and a testament to the remarkable outcomes that can be achieved when we unite our efforts.”

This collaborative endeavour not only demonstrates the impact of coordinated action but also serves as an inspiring model for future initiatives. The joint commitment of ADSL and Sodexo showcases the positive change that can be achieved when organisations work hand in hand to address pressing social challenges.
