At ADSL, the fundamental principles of “Zero Harm 24/7” and “Courage to Care” form the bedrock of our business ethos.

With an unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards, we have established an exemplary framework for health and safety management. This framework is built upon three key pillars: steadfast leadership and dedication, substantial investments in employee training, and the implementation of a robust management system.

Exemplary Health and Safety Standards and Recognition

Our exceptional commitment to health and safety extends beyond mere compliance. Known for our rigorous focus on both safeguarding the wellbeing of our workforce and managing the environmental impacts of our operations, our dedication to these principles has resulted in numerous industry awards.

We have proudly earned prestigious recognition including the ISO 45001 certification and esteemed RoSPA Gold Awards for eleven consecutive years.

Pioneering a Proactive Approach

We recognise that effective health and safety management requires a proactive stance. To this end, we have established a set of leading indicators that guide our approach. These indicators encompass various facets, including pre-emptively identifying potential incident triggers, conducting thorough and consistent risk assessments, prioritising comprehensive training initiatives, and conducting regular health and safety inspections.

Any incident that poses a threat to the health and safety of our personnel is treated with the utmost seriousness. We collaborate closely with our managerial teams and subcontractors to swiftly implement the necessary corrective and preventive measures. Our commitment to rapid response reflects our dedication to ensuring a secure and protected working environment.

Fostering Collaborative Safety

Our devotion to health and safety extends to our subcontractors as well. By fostering a culture of shared responsibility, we work collectively to uphold the highest standards. We do this through several key events and initiatives:

  • Each year, our Zero Harm Day events allow us to emphasise our Safety-First value and mindset, reinforcing our commitment to health and safety objectives to both employees and subcontractors alike.

  • Twice a year, we produce a Contractors’ Newsletter, filled with best practice articles, key business updates and important health and safety data and information distributed across the supply chain. The aim is to keep our subcontractors engaged with and informed about our health and safety commitments. Learn more about how we encourage our supply chain to remain sustainable.

  • Likewise, once a year, we gather all subcontractors to a Contractors’ Forum, where key learnings and updates from the past year can be discussed, and ideas exchanged to help support the business goals and values of Zero Harm and Safety First.
