AGSC update April 6th 2021

Following the government guidelines, from the 12th April 2021, indoor leisure and sports facilities will be able to reopen for individual exercise, or exercise with your household or support bubble

The Gym will open for individual users on Monday the 12th April to our customers that have pre-booked their session.

Session timings are as follows:

The AGSC specific NHS QR code is available for visitor to check-in when visiting the centre, a requirement as an indoor leisure facility.

Outdoor facilities

You can exercise outdoors in a group of 6 or a larger group of any size from up to 2 households (including their support bubbles, if eligible).

You can also take part in formally organised outdoor sports or licensed physical activity with any number of people. This must be organised by a business, charity or public body and the organiser must take the required precautions, including the completion of a risk assessment. You should avoid contact in training and, for some sports, avoid contact in all activities. Read the guidance on what avoiding contact means for your sport.

Elite sportspeople

Elite sportspeople (or those on an official elite sports pathway) can meet in larger groups or meet indoors to compete and train. They can be joined by their coaches if necessary, or their parents and guardians if they’re under 18.

Use of facilities

As a Covid-secure facility due to the measures we have introduced, we ask all our users to familiarise themselves and follow the measures we have in place. We will continue to monitor the guidance and update our guidance to ensure it is in line with what the government is advising as a Covid-secure venue.

AGSC UPDATE 1 December 2020

Customer Notice – Maintenance Update

Following on from the announcement in October regarding the problem with the pool inlets at the deep end, the investigation revealed further issues with two other inlets. Various options have been reviewed as to how to repair the supply pipes to these inlets, by the structural engineers.

We have been informed that to complete a satisfactory repair the extensive work will take several weeks. This programme will complete in May 2021, at which point we will be able to open the pool once again.

Understanding this news will impact all our plans for the New Year we want to give everyone notice as soon as we could. The work has started today, and we will monitor progress giving an update in April 2021.

We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause, but understandably the work needs to be completed and the method approved is the best way to take this forward.

Sincerely,

Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre
