We are really proud to announce that ADSL has been awarded the RoSPA Gold Medal for winning its fifth consecutive Gold Award.\u00a0 \"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mark Carr, Managing Director ADSL said,<\/p>\n

\u2018This is a significant achievement and is clear recognition of the strong Health and Safety culture we have in the business. Many congratulations go to all those who contributed to the submission, well done to you all!\u2019<\/p>\n

The Gold Medal marks ADSL\u2019s fifth consecutive Gold Award. Ian Hewer, ADSL Asbestos Manager headed up the team compiling this year\u2019s submission. Ian said,<\/p>\n

\u2018The RoSPA judges are not interested in seeing process maps, or how things \u2018should be\u2019. They want to know about real activity on the ground.<\/p>\n

We needed to evidence our Occupational Health and Safety practice for the last year in 20 different sections of a very comprehensive web-based survey and ADSL\u2019s entry this year was made up of over 100mb of explanatory text and Health and Safety related technical documents, files, audits, reports and news bulletin articles\u2019.<\/p>\n

Ian explained how this year\u2019s submission highlighted ADSL\u2019s employee engagement initiatives including videos about starting back to work safely after the holidays. There was also \u2018Crash Course\u2019 \u2013 a road safety presentation attended by over 1000 employees and contractors and \u2018Working Well Together\u2019, ADSL\u2019s Contractor Safety Event supported by the Health and Safety Executive.<\/p>\n

Ian said, \u2018There was a new question this year asking for evidence of ADSL\u2019s influence and leadership of safety in the workplace and in the community in 2017.<\/p>\n

Our Health and Well-Being Strategy, including the new Employee Health and Wellbeing Policy and Awareness Calendar, the British Heart Foundation Roadshow offering employees \u2018mini-health MOTs\u2019 and CPR training, the provision of free flu jabs to all employees and ADSL\u2019s support of the Virgin Pulse Global Challenge all got a mention\u2019.<\/p>\n

Evidencing our leadership of safety in the community in 2017 Ian noted our delivery of a new safer pedestrian route for a local primary school and a sensory room also built for a local school where children can talk openly in a quiet and secure environment.<\/p>\n

ADSL also provided support to local schools and Scout Clubs during \u2018Drowning Prevention Week\u2019 and raised funds for Alabar\u00e9 a local Homes for Veterans charity which provides temporary accommodation for homeless former service men and women together with services for drug and alcohol dependency, depression and other health issues.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
