ADSL delivered another successful Zero Harm Week\u00a0during\u00a0the last week of\u00a0February, bringing together 1,400 employees and contractors across four locations for a programme of interactive activities focused on strengthening safe working practices and encouraging open conversations about what it means to look after ourselves and one another at work.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n

Zero Harm Week is an important fixture in the ADSL calendar, offering a dedicated space for participants to refresh their knowledge, build confidence in practical safety skills, and explore how individual behaviours contribute to safer outcomes across the\u00a0business. This year\u2019s event blended learning, demonstration and hands<\/span>–<\/span>on participation to help reinforce clear, practical approaches to everyday risk.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Members\u00a0of the\u00a0ADSL Health and Safety Team\u00a0delivered a diverse\u00a0range of activities designed to mirror real<\/span>\u2011<\/span>life scenarios, highlight how decisions are made under pressure, and show how planning and communication influence safe working.\u00a0These included\u00a0the Tetris\u00a0Rocker challenge, which encouraged participants to think critically about sequencing, control measures and time management, and the Human Factors game, which focused on teamwork, distraction, stress and resource management.\u00a0Participants\u00a0also took part in quick<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>fire tasks such as the Rubik\u2019s Cube timed activity, alongside mental<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>health puzzles\u00a0led by ADSL Mental Health First Aiders\u00a0and Restart a Heart CPR demonstrations, which provided essential lifesaving guidance.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The event was further supported by Aspire Defence Limited, who showcased a retro 80s<\/span>\u2011<\/span>style Monopoly\u00a0inspired\u00a0board focused on PPE and risk<\/span>\u2011<\/span>assessment awareness.\u00a0As well as contractors,\u00a0Gavin Jones, Sodexo, Veolia, UKPN, and Hills,\u00a0who hosted a variety of informative stands covering topics such as waste and recycling, PPE inclusivity, COSHH in the home,\u00a0knife safety, hazard awareness and the use of VR technology.\u00a0These sessions offered valuable insight into how different sectors approach safety and encouraged attendees to consider how similar principles can be applied in their own roles.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout the week, colleagues had the opportunity to share experiences, ask questions and build on the behaviours that help create a safer working environment. The focus on taking\u00a0the\u00a0time to understand risks, think ahead and support one another underpinned each session, reflecting ADSL\u2019s\u00a02026 safety message of \u2018Take Time 2 Take Care\u2019 and our\u00a0ongoing efforts to strengthen a culture where safe decision<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>making is embedded in everyday activity.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ADSL extends its thanks to everyone who delivered, supported and participated in this year\u2019s Zero Harm Week. The engagement across all locations demonstrated the continued value of\u00a0coming together to learn, reflect and take practical steps toward preventing harm and promoting safer ways of working.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
