ADSL\u2019s Operations Director, Martin West, ADSL Support Services Manager for Aldershot, Andrew Matheson, and Aspire Defence Limited\u2019s Chief Executive, Allan Thomson, recently attended a community event organised by Rushmoor Borough Council. The event marked the 100\u2011day countdown to Armed Forces Day 2026.\u00a0Held\u00a0in\u00a0Aldershot, the\u00a0home of the British Army, the gathering brought together\u00a0over 200 children from two local\u00a0schools, service\u00a0personnel\u00a0and\u00a0local media to build excitement and offer a glimpse of what is to come at the national event in June.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n

The event offered an\u00a0opportunity to explore some of the equipment and capabilities used by today\u2019s military. Attendees were able to view a British Army Jackal military vehicle and a\u00a0Wildcat helicopter up close, with serving personnel on hand to talk about their roles and answer questions. The Band of The Coldstream Guards also performed,\u00a0adding to the lively atmosphere.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A particular highlight for many was meeting Seamus, the\u00a0well-known\u00a0mascot of the Irish Guards. The Irish Wolfhound drew plenty of attention from visitors,\u00a0showcasing\u00a0one of the more unique traditions within the Armed Forces.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For ADSL, being present at this milestone event was an important way to show our ongoing commitment to the communities we serve. With deep ties to the military environment across\u00a0the PAC<\/a> Estate,\u00a0we\u00a0remain\u00a0dedicated to supporting service personnel, veterans,\u00a0families\u00a0and the wider defence community through the work we deliver every day.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Armed Forces Day 2026 will take place on 27\u00a0–\u00a028 June in Aldershot, hosted by Rushmoor Borough Council. The national celebration will bring together a broad programme of displays, activities and entertainment that shine a light on more than 170 years of military heritage in the area. It will also provide a platform to recognise the contribution of serving members of the Armed Forces, reservists, cadets,\u00a0veterans\u00a0and their families.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The countdown event served as a reminder of the strong relationship between Aldershot and the Armed Forces, and of the importance of recognising the dedication of those who serve. ADSL looks forward to joining the community in celebrating this heritage when the national event arrives later this year.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
