For generations, buildings like The Beeches have quietly sat at the heart of a community. From coffee mornings and children’s activities to conversations between neighbours, these spaces help bring people together. Now, following a significant refurbishment programme, The Beeches in Bulford is ready to begin its next chapter. 

The renewed community facility was officially opened on 30 September 2026 during a ceremony led by Major General Henry Searby CBE, the recently arrived General Officer Commanding 3rd Division, with representatives from ADSL, ADL, SPS Painting & Building Contractors Ltd and the Army from nearby Bulford Camp joining the celebration. 

Funded by ADL and delivered by ADSL alongside SPS, the project has transformed an ageing building into a modern, welcoming space designed to serve the community for years to come. 

The Beeches is already recognised as a local hub and home to community-focused activities and services. The refurbishment was driven by a need to modernise outdated facilities, make better use of the building’s space, and ensure it continues to meet the needs of those who rely on it.  

Behind the scenes, extensive work has taken place throughout the building. Heating and plumbing systems have been completely upgraded to improve efficiency, while a full electrical rewire, new lighting and enhanced communications infrastructure have brought the facility up to modern standards. Significant fire safety improvements, including new fire doors and compartmentation measures, have also been introduced. New flooring, refreshed internal and external finishes, upgraded kitchen facilities, structural repairs and landscaping improvements complete the transformation. 

The refurbished centre is an investment in the people who use the building every day. Visitors will now benefit from a more modern, sustainable and efficient facility, with the upgraded space providing greater flexibility for community activities while creating a brighter and more welcoming setting. 

As the doors open on this revitalised facility, The Beeches stands ready to continue its role at the centre of community life in Bulford, offering a safe, modern space where people can connect and create new memories for years to come.
