ADSL Major Works build new ‘Learning Hub’ for Gunners

ADSL subcontractor MUJV started utilities works at Larkhill Garrison on Thursday 22 November, in preparation for construction of a new Royal Artillery (RA) Adult Learning Facility and Hub.

The building, which is funded by the RA under our PAC contract, will support soldiers in their skill-set and career development.  It will support military courses and training as well as personal development It will also provide light catering and breakout facilities.

Main construction works will begin in January. The target completion date is summer 2019, coinciding with the arrival of additional Service personnel from regiments relocating to Larkhill under the Army Basing Programme.

Gary Charles, Major Works Director ADSL, said, “We are delighted that work is now underway on this significant project, which supports ADSL’s commitment to delivering first-rate training facilities for soldiers on all PAC garrisons.”

Lt Col David Penniall MBE BEM RA, Deputy Garrison Commander, who took part in a ground breaking ceremony at the site, said:

“As the headquarters of the Royal School of Artillery, Larkhill Garrison has a long-standing reputation as a centre of excellence for artillery training. This facility will be a key asset in our provision of on-site training for soldiers, to support both individual career development and overall military capability.”
