ADSL Nominated for 2023 Salisbury Chamber of Commerce Sustainable Business Award

On Friday March 31, 2023 Aspire Defence Services Limited received a nomination for the 2023 Salisbury Chamber of Commerce Sustainable Business Award.

The Sustainable (Green) business award is open to any organisation who can demonstrate its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint in all it does, in the most sustainable way.

The Salisbury & District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is an association of Member businesses and organisations, governed by an elected Board comprising local businesspeople.

Originally founded by a group of Salisbury businesses in 1912, it is a not for profit, independent organisation, which over the last 100 years has supported local businesses of all sizes through many exciting and challenging years. By working together and providing good communication, support, and networking, they have been able to keep true to the motto, “Where Business Matters”.

Speaking on the award, ADSL Managing Director, Mark Carr said,

“Sustainability is an important feature in our service delivery at Aspire Defence Services Limited. As we continue to support the MoD in achieving carbon reduction targets, this nomination is a recognition of the hard work and commitment of our teams towards realising the Army’s objective of a ‘Net Zero Carbon’ estate.”

Aspire Defence Services Limited recently completed a phase of installations under the Army’s Project Prometheus, which is delivering around 80 ground-mounted solar farms and roof-mounted solar panels across the Army estate over the next decade.

Since 2017, the company has supported the installation of more than 4,800 PV panels on vehicle garaging, offices, stores, and training assets at Salisbury Plain Training Area garrisons under the Project Allenby/Connaught contract.

To date, this has saved upwards of 620,000kg CO2 emissions, equivalent to planting over 37,000 trees.
