Reflecting on the tournament, John, who created the idea of a military football event in 2018, expressed his delight, stating,
“We are thrilled with the resounding success of The Aspire Cup. This event provided a splendid opportunity to foster unity within the military community while highlighting our unwavering commitment to our customer and community objectives. Moreover, we are particularly pleased to have resurrected the tournament after its unfortunate cancellation during the Covid pandemic”.
The tournament also served as an ideal platform for the local community to compete in a fun and sociable environment, thanks to the support of catering subcontractors, Sodexo. They generously provided complimentary barbecue and refreshments for all participating teams.
Staff Sergeant Dan Winter, with the assistance of members of the ADSL Support Services Teams, Carol Laming, Charlotte Hatchard, Tim Carnsew and Steve Grantham, led by Support Services Manager, Laura Bennett, based in Tidworth, played a crucial role in ensuring the event’s smooth execution.
