ADSL organises Guinness World Record Attempt at Aldershot

YOUR opportunity to cycle into history is from noon 16 November to noon 17 November at the Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre where there will be an official Guinness World Record attempt for Most Electrical Energy Produced by Pedalling on Static Bicycles for 24 Hours.

The event is organised by ADSL who manage the Sports Centre and there are 3,000 slots of a minimum of 30 minutes to be filled in the 24 hours, so we are looking for volunteers. The event is open to all comers over the age of 16 and money raised will go to Children in Need.

The bikes are ‘watt bikes’ as used by British Cycling and there will be 40 available. A console displays the wattage being generated and scrutineers will be on hand to verify the record.

Our target is 72,000 watts in 24 hours.

Volunteers who sign up for cycling slots will receive a sponsorship form to raise funds for Children in Need and visitors to the event will be able to donate at the Sports Centre on the day.

Other activities include:

  • Live DJ
  • Sports massages available in return for a donation to Children in Need
