Proudly supporting those who serve and their families

Aspire Defence, announced today, that part of its ongoing commitment to the UK’s Armed Forces, Aspire Defence Ltd has signed the Armed Forces Covenant in the presence of Major General Richard Clements CBE, Director Basing & Infrastructure.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces as well their families should be treated fairly. This commitment is made by organisations of all types to provide support for members of the Armed Forces community through employment, education, financial assistance or access to critical services.

This pledge further deepens Aspire Defence’s longstanding relationship with the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the British Army, under the Project Allenby/Connaught (PAC) contract. Where Aspire Defence is improving the living and working environments for British soldiers, building and maintaining modern high quality facilities on garrisons across Salisbury Plain and Aldershot, ensuring they live and work in the best possible environment.

Working alongside the UK Military has given Aspire Defence a unique appreciation of the contribution and sacrifice that people working for the Armed Forces make and continue to make once they have left the service to business and in the wider community.

We are very proud to sign the Armed Forces Covenant which is in keeping with the core culture of our company” said Allan Thomson CEO of Aspire Defence “ This is expressed through our Corporate Mission Statement – ‘Making Soldiers’ Lives Better’. At Aspire Defence we have a number of ex-military personnel and we value the contribution they bring to our business We look forward to extending our commitment to supporting UK service members and their families offering meaningful employment options and support maximising their positive contribution to the business community.

“Our pledge also commits us to supporting the employment of Service spouses and partners, wounded or injured ex-service personnel, partners and dependants and to do our best to be flexible to any special needs this may present, as well as offering our Reservists additional days of annual leave to carry out their duties ” Said Allan Thomson,“ As a veteran myself I am passionate about supporting this pledge and championing its initiative within our organisation.”

He went on “ In addition making further commitments to actively recruit veterans, we have also committed to support and promote Armed Forces events. Sponsoring a number of military sports which help build and maintain strong relationships with the military units on PAC estate. As well as supporting the military community we also ensure that our staff develop understanding of our local Armed Forces Services through briefings, engagements, and charitable support at events and other activities.”

“As we continue to build foundations for the Army’s future, I remain extremely proud of our successful record and our close partnership, signing the Covenant provides a further opportunity to make a real difference and at Aspire Defence we will continue to do so.”
