Aspire – Recognising Women in Defence

Aspire Defence is sponsoring the Women in Defence UK Awards for the second year running.

The awards promote the value of women in defence and recognise exceptional women, men and teams in UK defence, from serving Forces personnel to those working within industry.

There are eight categories this year, two of which are open to men, and a third to teams of men and women, including awards for inclusive teamwork, STEM in Defence and gender diversity.

Organiser Angela Owen explained:

“Women have been under-presented at all levels in UK defence for a long time. These Awards help to shine a spotlight on the value of women to the defence enterprise, whilst recognising the exceptional work carried out by women and men to improve gender balance and create an inclusive environment.”

The shortlist has been announced and the Awards ceremony takes place on 1 November.
