Come on you pinks!
A Tidworth youth football team is all kitted out for the 2017/18 season in an eye-catching new strip, thanks to sponsorship from Aspire Defence Limited.
A £500 donation was given by Aspire to the Tidworth Colts FC 17 U14s, after our Chief Executive Allan Thomson approached Tidworth’s Garrison Commander, for suggestions of local causes in need of a helping hand.
Capt Mark Walshaw RA, Colts’ Manager and a Regimental Training Officer based at Bhurtpore Barracks, Tidworth, explained:
“I’m really grateful that the Garrison Commander put me in touch with Aspire. The team has recently reformed as the Colts, so we needed funding to help with set-up costs and the kids haven’t had a new kit for a few seasons.”
Colts’ new strip is bright pink with a large Aspire Defence logo on the front.
Mr Thomson, who met the team at a training session at Perham Down, said:
“We’re delighted to have an opportunity to support youth football ‘on our doorstep’ and we wish the Colts good luck for the coming season.”
The Colts’ first match will be mid-September in the Testway League. The team is actively looking for new players to join, please get in touch to register interest – firstname.lastname@example.org
