Netheravon community benefits from Aspire sponsorship

A community hall in Netheravon has benefitted from substantial redecoration, thanks to sponsorship from Aspire Defence Limited.
Aspire Defence Limited was delighted to get involved with an initiative launched by Army Basing in April, to find local community and voluntary projects in need of support.
One of the projects identified was Phoenix Hall in Netheravon, a community space that is used by local residents for business and social events from meetings and clubs to film nights and concerts.
With the building in need of a substantial facelift, the committee responsible for upkeep of the Hall had requested help to meet the costs of redecoration. ADL donated £1600, to which the committee added £140 raised through a jumble sale, to fund repainting of the entrance and entrance corridor.
Allan Thomson, CE ADL, attended the grand reopening of the revamped Phoenix Hall on Saturday 29 September (see photo, Allan is third from right).
Allan said:
“It’s always satisfying to see the positive impact of sponsorship, especially when it benefits an important community resource like the Phoenix Hall. We look forward to helping the committee with further maintenance projects in 2019.”
Although Netheravon is not included within our Project Allenby/Connaught contract, Aspire Defence Services Limited regularly surveys a collection of listed defence buildings located there. ADSL advises the Defence Infrastructure Organisation whenever remedial works need to be carried out, to protect the assets from the long-term or adverse effects of wind and weather.
