The Sandbox is opened at Aspire Defence

It was great to open our first collaborative working space, The Sandbox at the Aspire Business Centre, Tidworth recently.

Cutting the ribbon and revealing the new name for this workspace was Andy Honor, DIO Head of Southeast Region and PFi’s, this multipurpose informal workspace for joint use with DIO, Army and Aspire encourages interaction and collaboration on a day-to-day basis with our colleagues, partners and customers.

This newly designed area was repurposed from existing office space and contains booths with acoustically dampened meeting spaces as an alternative break out area for meetings, various private soft seating areas plus an open soft seating area for more informal meetings and engagements. It even has touch down desks for hybrid calls away from our desks, so we don’t disturb others or just to take a break away from our desks.

Allan Thomson, Aspire Defence CEO said “ It’s important to find creative ways on a day-to-day basis to interact allowing us all to build successful working relationships. This new area- very google-esque space-will allow for increased face to face engagement with all our colleagues, provide a relaxed, supportive work environment with a positive workplace culture which benefits productivity. By taking a break from our desk we can recharge and enjoy our workplace more”.

Andy Honor said “ The more we collaborate the better we will understand our colleagues, what they do and need. The Sandbox will provide an alternative space to gather that’s not virtually or round a boardroom table, which supports our already strong working relationships and builds a happy, healthy teams working together to deliver excellence”.
