Larkhill in bloom

Army Basing Programme construction works at Larkhill Garrison are enhancing the Defence landscape in unexpected ways.

These cheerful poppies have sprung up along the security fence at the Watson Road gate.

Richard Tindal, Project Manager (Aspire Defence Capital Works) Larkhill, explained:

“The flowers are a happy by-product of having built the new car park last autumn. In turning over the chalk soil, poppy seeds have germinated and Gavin Jones have not mowed the bed, which has allowed the flowers to flourish.”
